This article presents the European Research Council-NeuroMarseille group (ERC-NM) set up by the GINTER  (Groupe INTERnational de NeuroMarseille). You can also find useful videos created by the Executive Agency in charge of ERC projects (ERCEA) to help you every step of the way in your ERC application.

What is the ERC-NM group?

The GINTER  (Groupe INTERnational de NeuroMarseille) has set up this committee to support ERC applications from NeuroMarseille members. This group proposes personalized support during the preparation phase of the project and the oral presentation. The committee of volunteers is composed of ERC laureates and also includes non-laureates with expertise in different fields of neuroscience. The main objective of this committee is not focused on the scientific content itself, but rather to help make the project accessible and understandable to the ERC panel.

The ERC-NM (European Research Council-NeuroMarseille) group has already received two requests for help in ERC applications at different levels, which is great news! Whatever your experience, the contribution of an outside viewpoint at an early stage of your grant application is always helpful. NeuroMarseille would like to thank the committee of volunteers coordinated by Rochelle Ackerley, Thierry Chaminade, Lydia Kerkerian-Le Goff, and Santiago Rivera for their involvement and wish that our ERC candidates feel supported by their community!

What does the ERC-NM support consist of?

  • Critical and constructive feedback on the proposal at a preliminary stage.
  • Help prepare for the interview, including structuring the presentation, how the interview takes place, and mock interviews (in co-ordination with AMU, CNRS, INSERM, and le CERCLE).

Calendar of the next Horizon Europe calls:

  • ERC Starting Grant 2021 – 2 to 7 years after the PhD. Deadline: 09/03/2021
  • ERC Consolidator Grant 2021 – 7 to 12 years after the PhD. Deadline: 20/04/2021

Finally, we would like to remind you that, within the framework of CERCle – the ERC Club of the Aix Marseille site, the European academic services of the site will help you in the conception and setting up of your projects in a more general way while the ERC-NM will be efficient on the neuroscientific aspects.
