NeuroMarseille Day, 5 September: save the date!
NeuroMarseille invites the entire neuroscience community on Thursday, September 5, 2024, for a day of convivial gathering around science.
John F.Cryan (Cork University) will be our special guest for a keynote lecture on : “Gut Feelings: The Microbiome as a Key Regulator of Brain & Behaviour Across the Lifespan“

Glia 2025 | Call for Symposia
The XVII European Meeting on Glial Cells in Health and Disease will take place in Marseille in July 2025. We encourage members of the glial community to propose Symposia, Special Trainee Symposia or Technical workshops on all aspects of CNS and PNS glial biology.

A look back on the Welcome Day
On January 22, the NeuroSchool PhD program welcomed first-year doctoral students to its Welcome Day, an afternoon dedicated to meeting new people and passing on crucial information about their years ahead.
Participants can find on AMeTICE the link to their beautiful portraits taken during the Welcome Day.
Newcomers who could exceptionally not join us can attend an "extended committee" meeting on February 9 or March 15th.

Sylvie Thirion, a researcher at the INS, published a book aimed at the younger members of the general public. Through her work on oxytocin, she proposes a popularisation of the biological answers to the mysteries of love.

A few days ago, researcher Christophe Leterrier from the INP laboratory recorded his first podcast! The Göttingen team asked him about his research, the scientific community and the development of research tools.
Hope for gene therapy to treat drug-resistant epilepsy
Article on Valérie Crepel (INMED)
Read the CNRS newsletter article about gene therapy, where Valérie Crepel (INMED) and Christophe Mulle (IINS, Bordeaux) talk about their work on how to treat temporal lobe epilepsy. The Dutch company uniQure recently announced that it would be starting the first clinical trials of a gene therapy to treat temporal lobe epilepsy. This new approach could help many patients who are resistant to drug treatments.

Book by Swann & Christian Xerri
Christian Xerri, Director of Research Emeritus at the CNRS, and a member of CRPN, is co-author of a book that articulates neuroscience and personal development. The authors lay the foundations for a science of change, postulating that brain neuroplasticity, largely underestimated, is the driving force behind personal development.
