Neuroschool Doctoral Contracts
NeuroSchool PhD program offers doctoral contracts every year:
• for international co-supervised PhDs
• for international students wishing to do their PhD in Marseille
• for interns, young MDs and PharmDs wishing to dedicate a year to research as part of a neuroscience thesis
In general, projects are submitted around March 1st and applications are made in April : information and application here.
Doctoral school competitions
At the end of M2, a student wishing to do a thesis may apply for a doctoral contract (= a research allowance, i.e. a 3-year salary) as part of the Aix-Marseille University Doctoral Contracts competition for the Doctoral School of Life and Health Sciences. Each year, about 7-8 doctoral contracts are awarded to the best neuroscience students.
Warning: a student can apply to the competition at the Doctoral School of Life and Health Sciences only if his/her future thesis supervisor has a Habilitation to Direct Research (HDR) and is attached to neuroscience at the Doctoral School level.
It is also possible to apply for competitions at other doctoral schools as an external candidate.

Some ways to find other sources of funding
There are also industrial agreements for training through research (CIFRE grants).
In addition, other funding can be obtained directly by the research laboratories: if you are passionate about the work of a laboratory, contact it as soon as possible to seek funding together.
