Celebration of the multi-laboratories ICR laureates, keynote lecture by Prof. Blanke coming from Switzerland, and many interesting workshops. This special day will be a summer meeting to get together and mark a milestone in the collaboration and initiatives taken at NeuroMarseille. Please register so we can properly organize the day: we hope to see you by hundreds !

2nd INTernational workshop on Marmoset Neuroscience

From July 7 to 8, 2022 in Marseille, the INT is organizing a workshop on Marmoset's neuroscience, as a satellite of the FENS forum. Registration is free but mandatory: open until June 19th. The workshop will present state-of-the-art  developments in marmoset's neurosciences, and 10 international scientific leaders will present their most recent research project.

Constance Hammond in the spotlight

Constance Hammond, Director of Research Emeritus at Inserm, will receive the insignia of Officer in the National Order of Merit at Tous Chercheurs (Luminy) on June 8. Honorary Founding President of Tous Chercheurs, she is also the teacher of our MOOC on cellular neurophysiology. Congratulations to her!

NeuroDays 2022 announcement

Save the date: the NeuroDays 2022, conference organized by the Neuroscience PhD students of Aix-Marseille University, will take place this year on the 1st & 2nd of December of the next academic year. For the occasion, we will meet at the Palais du Pharo. The topic will be «Mens sana in corpore sano». We can't say that you weren't told!

    L3 RTEI Review

    L3 students in neuroscience have followed the "RTEI" introductory research course during the second semester. On this occasion, they were able to discover the steps of a research project until its publication in the form of a poster. Find all the information on this pedagogical innovation implemented by NeuroSchool in our article below, and discover in video and image the experience that our young researchers in the L3 Neurosciences of Marseille have lived! Congratulations to them for presenting their poster on May 18 on the Saint-Charles campus.

    Other events

    Scientifica exhibition

    The Scientifica exhibition consists of an Arts&Sciences day at the Cube on Aix-en-Provence, on Saturday, June 18. Many artists have come together to form this exhibition, including Nadia Merad Coliac, an artist in connection with the INP, who has carried out an artistic project involving bioluminescent bacteria, and the effect of their light on autism. Come and meet these artists who seek to make discover the aesthetic dimension of scientific productions to the greatest number of people!

    #FENS 2022 + NENS Fair in July

    This international forum will take place soon : from July 9 to 13, 2022 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, France. Come attend its numerous lectures and workshop ! NeuroSchool will be there, along with one of our students who managed to be finalist for the NENS competition of research project presentation : Aurelien Fortoul. Congratulation to him ! Honorable mention also for Priscille Riondel, also pre-selected by NeuroSchool. The NENS Fair will be held in parallel with the FENS, on July 12.

    FENS satellite meeting: The Neuroarcheology of brain disorders and GABA signals

    In parallel to the FENS forum, a satellite meeting will be held to present the concept of Neuroarcheology. Organized by Yehezkel Ben-Ari and Nick Spitzer, the meeting gathers many experts in their fields, and is an opportunity to win prizes (2 and 3k euros).     Advanced biostatistics applied to neurosciences

    Get ready for the Statistics for neurosciences course, organized from June 13th at 10 am, on the Saint-Charles campus (building #7, room CH 3). PhD students: you can still apply on your Ametice space. Note that you will have to bring your laptop with the Anaconda software set on it, and be ready to code with Python. At the end of this course, you’ll be able to program analysis tools to deal with empirical data, such as those obtained in your scientific work. Good luck !

    Scientific Communication training

    At the end of June, students who have enrolled will start the science communication course, which will allow them to obtain a Diploma of Advanced University Studies (DESU) certified by the State. They will acquire skills in popularizing science, editorial design, dealing with scientific controversies, and more. The first session will take place from June 29 to July 13, 2022 (2nd session in August) at the School of Journalism and Communication of Aix-Marseille (EJCAM).

    Since NeuroSchool and Neuromarseille are supporting this first CIVIS summer school, the CIVIS alliance is postponing its registration deadline exclusively for NeuroSchool students willing to attend. The proposed program is extremely rich and complete on « Advancements in experimental and clinical neuroscience of motor and cognitive systems in neurodegenerative diseases ». The training will take place at the INT in Marseille, from 18th to 21st July 2022.

    ComSciCon 2022 : it's coming soon!

    Visualization and development of AMU international network

    The DRI of AMU (International Relations Department) has made available resources and a search engine to identify and develop the network of international institutions with which it has or could have a partnership (AMU identifiers required). Find out in a few clicks about the different types of cooperation underway with partner institutions worldwide.     Going abroad in M2 neuroscience

    NeuroSchool allows AMU students in M1 to pursue their studies in a partner university abroad for their M2. To do so, M1 students can submit an application in the section of our call "Partir à l'étranger en M2 neurosciences" until July 3, 2022. Athens, Brussels, Bucharest, Madrid... students can choose to go to one of the many universities of the CIVIS alliance, of which Aix-Marseille University is a member, or to another partner university. More details in our call.

    PhD contract at the INP

    Pascale Barbier, Senior Lecturer-HDR at the INP, is looking for a PhD student to work with her on the question: « Is phosphorylation of Tau protein on the AT8 epitope responsible for the increased risk of Alzheimer's disease in military personnel? ».     2 PhD contracts available in New Jersey

    The State University of New Jersey, through the Behavioral and Neural Science Graduate School at Rutgers, is seeking applicants for two 5-year funded doctoral contracts. The school is associated with the Center for Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience, which has 14 neuroscience laboratories. Students regularly publish in major journals.     Graduate and postdocs position for NHP imaging

    Justine Cléry, Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at McGill University, Montreal, Canada, is looking to build a team of graduate students and post-doctoral researchers for  the recent opening of her new laboratory "Laboratory of Sensory and Social Brain Mechanisms". Its collaborative network is also looking for a candidate for a fully funded 3-year post-doc to work in neuroimaging on a research project led by HBHL.     The scientific communication workshop is back for a third edition on July 7 and 8, 2022: this year, it’s organized in Marseille, on campus Saint-Charles. The PhD students who have registered will be able to do practical exercises of popularization, to participate in round tables and to listen to several speakers.     Jump in the Neuropoudlard Train for the OHBM meeting !

    Transportation is one of the first things we can do for the ecology: the train emits much less CO2 than the plane. The INT and its « sustainable development referent » Julien Lefevre are organizing a train expedition heading to the OHBM meeting in Glasgow next June. An eco-responsible initiative for a road trip that can be both studious and friendly! Let your ecological fiber speak and join the group!

    NeuroSchool allows AMU students in M1 to pursue their studies in a partner university abroad for their M2. To do so, M1 students can submit an application in the section of our call "Partir à l'étranger en M2 neurosciences" until July 3, 2022. Athens, Brussels, Bucharest, Madrid... students can choose to go to one of the many universities of the CIVIS alliance, of which Aix-Marseille University is a member, or to another partner university.
