The Timone Molecular Interactions Platform (PINT) offers unique expertise in the thermodynamic and kinetic analysis of molecular interactions, in the characterization and stability of molecular complexes in all fields of biology (neurology, oncology, immunology, microbiology, etc.). It comprises 4 complementary poles (Microcalorimetry; Surface Plasmon Resonance; Analytical Ultracentrifugation; Mass Spectrometry) which enable us to characterize all types of molecular interactions (proteins, DNA, RNA, sugars, lipids, small molecules, peptides, proteoliposomes, viral particles, etc.).

PINT is also open for collaborations.

You are looking for a platform to train one or more staff on a particular technique or equipment: you’re at the right place!

The platform, which is open to the entire academic and industrial research community, is also involved in the initial training of Aix Marseille University students and the continuing education of academic and private engineers and researchers, via the organization of workshops of more individual trainings.

Services subject to charges

Do you have a project that requires expertise, a technique or equipment that you don’t have? You’re not looking for scientific collaboration, but for the expert who can meet your needs? Then you’ve come to the right place!

We can conduct stability or interaction characterization experiments using isothermal titration calorimetry using peaqITC, ITC200, VP-ITC, differential scanning calorimetry using peaqDSC, differential scanning fluorimetry using nanoDSF.

We can determine the mass and the shape of protein, diameter of a nanoparticles, quality control of protein purification (antibodies), quantify molecular aggregation, determine the stoichiometry of the complex by analytical ultracentrifugation using Optime AUC.

We can determine the interaction kinetics (association and dissociation kinetic constants) of your molecular partners, the affinity of the interaction, and measure the active concentration of your molecules, using SPR technology (Biacore T200).

We can find interactors of your ligand or your protein of interest with quantitative proteomic. We can also define the stoichiometry of one ligand to your protein with native mass spectrometry. Finally, we can study the modifications on your proteins.

As the SPR system and nanoDSF are fully automated, it is also possible to carry out molecular screening (low to medium throughput) to determine potential interaction partners.

We can also propose more specific services such as biofluid denaturation profiles.

Rates of services are calculated using the TaPla tool developed by Aix-Marseille Université (AMU), CNRS and INSERM.
