Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) allows non-invasive cortical focal stimulation combined with simultaneous recording of brain activation using electroencephalography (EEG). This robotised and neuronavigated (MRI-guided) TMS offers the possibility to induce a transient, direct and well-localized central perturbation of brain dynamics in healthy humans (involved in cognitive tasks, resting state, etc.) and to measure its direct effects on cortical activation via EEG. From the way the brain reacts to TMS at the stimulation zone (excitability), and then the way this local activation propagates from this stimulation zone (connectivity) according to the tasks, one can discover many properties of brain activation and try to interfere with them in return.
