Developmental Biology Institute of Marseille

The Institut de Biologie du Développement de Marseille (IBDM), an institute under the auspices of the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) and AMU (Aix-Marseille University), brings together around twenty teams whose research is mainly focused on understanding the development of the embryo into an adult organism.

The teams also aim to explore how defects during this process can arise and be the cause of various pathologies. By studying how these aberrations can be corrected, we are providing keys to therapeutic interventions. Our results may lead to patents, and some of our researchers are founders of start-ups.
