Funding for Ph.D. studies

Doctoral contracts

At the end of M2, a student wishing to do a Ph.D. may apply for a doctoral contract (i.e. a governmental salary for 3 years) through the competition organized by the Graduate School of Life and Health Science.

Please note that the terms and conditions for awarding these doctoral contracts changed in 2019. You can find more information about this competition on the Graduate School of Life and Health Science website. Each year, approximately 7-8 doctoral contracts are awarded to the best students in neuroscience.

It is also possible to apply for competitions from other doctoral schools as an external candidate.

Other funding sources

There also are industrial agreements for research training in private companies (CIFRE scholarships).

Furthermore, other types of funding may be obtained directly by research laboratories : if a laboratory research captivates you, contact it as soon as possible to jointly seek funding.

Sometimes you can sign up to receive e-mail alerts. For instance, the ITMO Neurosciences weekly newsletter lists  job offers or calls to apply for funding.

The NeuroSchool PhD program and the DOC2AMU program also offer several scholarships to foreign students who wish to do their Ph.D. in Marseille.
