New heads at the PhD Program

Elections for the new directors of the PhD Program took place at the end of May.

A change in the leadership of the NeuroSchool PhD Program is underway. As of September 1, two new directors will take over.

It’s time for a change at the NeuroSchool PhD Program. Part of the program since its creation in 2013 under the name PhD program in Integrative and Clinical Neuroscience (ICN), Frédéric Chavane (INT) will leave his position as co-director in September 2020. Anne Kavounoudias (LNSC), co-director since 2018, will also be leaving the PhD Program for new adventures. We thank them for their unwavering commitment throughout their mandates.

Election results for the PhD Program co-directors

To allow for a training period and to ensure continuity of activities, elections were held at the end of May. The members of the PhD Program executive committee, the NeuroMarseille management, as well as the PhD Program extended committee and the laboratory representatives met virtually to vote. A total of 16 people took part in the vote, from AMU’s various neuroscience laboratories, the Doctoral School of Life and Health Sciences, and the two Convergence Institutes (CenTuri and ILCB).

Following the interview process, Wafaa Zaaraoui (CRMBM) and Anna Montagnini (INT) were elected by an absolute majority to the positions of co-directors of the NeuroSchool PhD Program. Already invested in the program, Anna as coordinator of PhD monitoring and international, and Wafaa as coordinator with the clinical units, this election will allow them to contribute even more to the program and leave their mark. Congratulations to them!

They will undergo a training period, before starting a 4-year term on September 1, 2020.
