Presentation of the call
The Shaping Life 2 international meeting will take place from May 12 to 15, 2020, in Cassis.
Among the invited speakers, note the presence of Paola Arlotta (Cambridge, USA) and Denis Jabaudon (Geneva, Switzerland) whose laboratories 1/ study the molecular/genetic programs that control brain development and the formation of neural circuits and 2/ develop strategies for brain repair. Their approaches are highly original, combining the use of complex genetic tools, human brain organoid cultures and/or single-cell omics studies.
NeuroMarseille proposes to fund 10 registrations to the conference in order to allow its PhD students to attend.
Even if you apply for this NeuroSchool call, you will then have to register on the conference website to participate!
How to apply
The application must be submitted, no later than March 1st, 2020, in the form of a SINGLE PDF DOCUMENT entitled LASTNAME-Firstname-Lab-ShapingLife2.pdf composed of :
- a CV (maximum 2 pages) containing the name of their laboratory and team, the current year of their PhD and the title of their research project;
- a short cover letter, which outlines their interest in attending the conference.

Complete applications received by the deadline will be reviewed by NeuroMarseille and the decision will be validated by NeuroMarseille Executive Committee.
Once selected, the winners will be contacted by e-mail during the first half of March with further information.
ATTENTION: the candidates will commit themselves to present a poster at the congress. A title and abstract will be requested from the selected candidates in order to validate their registration. The NeuroSchool logo must be present on their poster.
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible, the candidate must :
- be doing his or her PhD in a laboratory in Marseille on a topic related to the subject of the meeting
- commit to presenting a poster at the congress.
His/her complete application file must be received before the deadline set above.
Selection criteria
We will take into account the interest for the candidate of participating in the meeting and the quality of the academic/scientific record.
In case of equal applications, the selection committee will select applications distributed among the different laboratories in Marseille.
