Overview
NeuroMarseille institute wishes to support research activity in neuroscience and encourage the interaction between the members of Marseille’s neuroscience community at all levels, from single scientists to institutes. NeuroMarseille constitutes a component of Aix-Marseille University (AMU) supported by AMIDEX funding. The use of funding is therefore governed by AMIDEX financial rules and subject to evaluation.
In this context, NeuroMarseille institute opens this call titled “Platform software for Neuroscience” (PSN), in order to participate in the expenses needed to keep platform software running, updated and available to the neuroscience community in Marseille.
Applicants (see below) will be granted up to 5 000 €. This amount can either cover the total expenses or part of them (co-financing being already secured). The amount will be managed by the applicant: all expenses must be made by the end of December 2021.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants: Managers of a platform or a facility (“plateau technique”) directly affiliated to NeuroMarseille can answer this call. In the case of co-financing, the Applicant must provide evidence that the complementary amount is already available and/or can be committed. The Applicant will be responsible for managing the allocated budget. Priority will be given to platforms that did not obtain NeuroMarseille support in 2021.
It is not required to present a research program. However, the Applicants must submit an Application Form (see below) where they should provide information useful to evaluate their proposal. In particular, evaluation criteria will focus on how the platform/facility would benefit from this software, and on its availability and usefulness to the NeuroMarseille community.
Eligible expenses include new software licenses; software upgrades and updates; license extension; user extension. A detailed budget must be presented in the Application Form.
Application rules
Submission: Applicants must use the Application Form provided by NeuroMarseille. All applications must be added in this amubox file by the Director of the UMR, one file per UMR named [2021-PSN-labname]. Le director will provide a ranking if there is more than one application submitted from his/her Unit. The project submission deadline is October 10, 2021.
Deliberation results will be sent by e-mail to the Directors by October 22, 2021.
Terms of engagement
It is mandatory to mention the support of NeuroMarseille in all scientific publications and communications in relation to the project: “This work has received support from the French government under the Programme “Investissements d’Avenir”, Initiative d’Excellence d’Aix-Marseille Université via A*Midex funding (AMX-19-IET-004), and ANR (ANR-17-EURE-0029)”.
Applicants will receive a sticker with the NeuroMarseille logo that will have to be affixed to the computer(s) on which the software runs.
