The vestibular and multisensory foundations of bodily self-consciousness – behavioral and electrophysiological studies:
The interns will be involved in a research program investigating the role of vestibular and proprioceptive information in various aspects of bodily and self consciousness (e.g., embodiment, self-location, self-motion, ownership for body parts) and visuo-spatial cognition (mental imagery and perspective taking).
Techniques include immersive virtual reality, human electrophysiology (EEG, EMG), multisensory conflicts and perceptual illusions, as well as, clinical approaches in patients with vestibular disorders (otoneurology).
