Pantethine: a potential therapeutic drug against Alzheimer’s disease

We showed that a long-term treatment of pantethine, a precursor of coenzyme (CoA), was capable of reversing the transcriptomic profile of a transgenic “Alzheimer” mouse, the 5XFAD model. We would like to understand what mechanisms are responsible for this reversion.
The project requires animal experiments, cultures of primary cells of the central nervous system, immunohistology/Westernblot and the use of molecular biology techniques (RNA extraction, Rt-qPCR and DNA chips).
