ICN PhD day 2016: How the brain feels the body

The ICN PhD Day 2016, entitled: How the brain feels the body, will take place at the CERIMED Institute, La Timone campus in Marseille, on 18th November 2016.

During this day, the concept of body perception with cellular, neuroimaging and neuropsychological approaches will be explored, with talks about cellular mechanisms evolved in pain perception and cortical representation of limbs, as well as the multisensory and psychological bases of normal and pathologic body schema. The focus will be on cognitive mechanisms that form body awareness, experience of embodiment and self-identity.

We are very happy to announce the participation of outstanding speakers who will bring us closer to the topic – Aziz Moqrich (IBDM, Marseille), Manos Tsakiris (UCL, United Kingdom), Sebastian Dieguez (Fribourg, Switzerland) and Karen Reilly (CRNL, Lyon).

All the neuroscience students (including PhD students and undergraduate M2) and the scientists of the Neuroscience community of Aix Marseille University will be invited to attend this special event.

This day will be preluded by a public conference, in French, which will take place at the Saint Charles campus the day before, on 17th November 2016 at 18:00, and will be given by Christophe Lopez, PhD and researcher at CNRS (LNIA, St Charles). He is going to discuss about the same topic, with the aim to make science accessible to all.
